Questions about GW

Hi, I was wondering:
I played this game in beta a few times, and I thought it was fun.
But what do I need in order to play this game?
Is there like Guild Wars CD plus Expansion Pack?
How much software would I need to buy in order to play GW?

well to play the game either u can buy the DvDs including the expansion pack or download it from the GW forums..both require payments.Al tough buying the DvDs is a cheaper option

uhmmm Cinnna you can mess around on my account if you want to give it a test drive again before buying the game it's self (My account has Guild wars prophecies and guild wars faction)

If you do plan the buy game I would recommend you to buy Guild Wars:Prophecies which is the original first capture...

Reason for my recommendation is:

1) Guild wars prophecies has everything spelled out for you. The learning curve is small and drawn out (unlike other chapters which is geared towards players who know what they are doing) It also is a good place to start to learn how to PvP in GuildWars

2) Guild wars prophecies focus is PvE However the importance of PvP is very high if you want to go competitive.

3) Prophecies also has a strong story line and 25 missions while the other games have 13 and 20 missions. This means that guild wars prophecies has the longest game time

4) Even though it has the longest game time you don't have to worry about grinding.. because really Grind and Guild wars? no such thing exist... you'll reach level 20(cap lvl) without even trying.

5) On top of that prophecies is runnable meaning you could get someone to run you to the next town instead of fighting to get there yourself(which is pretty hard- I ran myself twice- to lyon arch and that Ice place) meaning you could take a short cut


Downsides

1) Nightfall which is the newest version of guildwars has the most players since old players move towards the newer content and new players buy the new product

2) you will miss out on the special classes of Assassin and ritualist(From guildwars faction) and Deverish, Paragaph(which are in Guildwars nightfall)

And maybe other downsides that I cannot remember or know of right now(as of right now im not playing GW)

So Guild Wars Prophecies is the first, Faction and Nightfall are expansion packs?
To explore the entire world I will need all three?

I remember pvp was a lot of fun.

Guildwars trilogy is only £29 from Amazon.co.uk

Prophecies is NECESSARY for newbies.

Nightfall is NECESSARY for PvP, everything else is just competitive edge.
Though I'd say factions is also pretty necessary.

I'm only looking for 3 others atm so I can TA it all night.
Then I'm looking to expand to GvGs and HA runs.

I love GW PvP.

BTW guildwars is the best MMO I have every played, I wish more competed in it. =/

hahahah I won't lie GW is WAY better then WoW... just that WoW does better because it has more hype and content...

hahah Jim as of right now where are you in GW? O.o are u doing GvGs for your guild? and so on?

No I am not, though when I was playing I was in top100 and my games were broadcast on TV ^^
